OLISE METUH FOUND GUILTY

Olise Metuh, former PDP Publicity secretary has been found guilty of laundering N400 million, a fund he received from the National Security Adviser, which he claimed was at the directive of the former President, Goodluck Jonathan. 

Justice Okon Abang of the Federal High Court, Abuja on Tuesday ruled that a "former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki, unlawfully transferred the sum of N400 million to the defendants in November 2014".

Those who testified against him include Eno Mfon Efiong, a staff of Diamond Bank and an account officer of the defendant, who confirmed to the court "a credit transaction from the office of the National Security Adviser into Destra Investment Limited account". 

Another witness was Mr Ibrahim, a bureau de change operator, who told the court that "he exchanged the sum of $1million for Destra Investment. He said he was given the money by a certain Nnena Nicole Ararume in 2014. He said the money was exchanged at the

rate of N183 per US dollar, and transferred into the account of Mr Metuh’s company. "

A jury affirmed that Weinstein forced a sexual act on former production assistant Miriam “Mimi” Haleyi in 2006, and that he raped the once-aspiring actor Jessica Mann in 2013. The panel found him not guilty on the two most serious charges of predatory sexual assault, which carry a maximum penalty of life behind bars.

BREAKING NEWS: Gov-Elect of Bayelsa State Sacked

The Supreme Court of Nigeria has today sacked Chief David Lyon, the Governor-Elect of Bayelsa State barely 24 hours before his swearing-in.

Reports have it that, Chief Lyon of the APC was at the rehearsal ground for his swearing-in tomorrow when the news reached him. 

The supreme court had voided Lyon's victory based on an allegation against Biobarakuma Degi-Eremieoyo his deputy/running mate for certificate forgery.

PDP’s Diri Duoye, who has the next hightest vote with required spread, is declared the winner of the November 16, 2019 election in Bayelsa State.

The death has been announced of "Joseph Shabalala".


Shabalala was the lead singer of "Lady Smith Black Mamboza", a Grammy Award winning South African group.

BOMB EXPLOSION ROCKS ADO EKITI

The Commissioner of Police in Ekiti state, Amba Asuquo has confirmed that there was a bomb explosion this morning in the EOD of the Police Headquarters. He said this was due to the "bomb detection devices kept in the area which may have exploded by a technical occurrence."

He said, “These demolition accessories, in case there’s a bomb blast and they want to rescue the bomb out of that place, they might have the need for it. So it was kept in their stock house and it must have exploded from there.”

There were no reports of casualties apart from the panic caused by the bang in that area..
